Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Training:
    • Plan and direct day-to-day operations and workflow.
    • Develop and trains staff.
  • Period-End Closing:
    • Coordinate period-end closing of accounts payable.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual 1099 process.
  • Invoice and Payment Processing:
    • Review invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Participate in the weekly payment processing to ensure prompt payment.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Reviews and ensures all vendor set-up and maintenance forms are collected and accurate. 
  • Policy Adherence:
    • Develop, communicate, interpret and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures to assist managers with questions.
  • Collaboration:
    • Coordinate activities with other Finance areas to meet accounting/department standards and processing schedules.
    • Contribute to team effort by coordinating or participating in special projects.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Identify, recommend, and implement quality improvement processes.

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Minimum 5 years related accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Skills
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Working knowledge of accounting ERP systems (Workday experience preferred).
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

    • Provide day-to-day direction and general supervision according to defined standards and guidelines.
    • Accurate and timely processing of payments.
    • Receive operational guidance on goals or service standards.
    • Attract, retain, motivate and develop staff.

    • Motivate others to accomplish established responsibilities, goals and timelines.
    • Effectively lead and supervise employees.

    • Familiarity with policies, procedures and guidelines specific to the job.

    • Convince others within the organization to comply with procedures and practices.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and internal and external customers.
  • Problem Solving
    • Resolve familiar problems and understand process flow.

Work Location

  • This is a hybrid position, requiring an onsite presence approximately 3+ days per week at our Headquarters location (6201 N 24th Parkway | Phoenix | AZ | 85016).
  • Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm (Arizona Time); alternate work hours may be considered.
